Puerto Calpe Movie

A short movie of a stroll around the Port of Calpe.

The Port is only a small part of Calpe but is the prettiest area and is open and busy all year round. It is also the location of the 'Penon de Ifach' mountain which is the smallest national park in Spain.

Calpe Marina

One of the hidden gems of Calpe, the Marina or 'Club Nautico' is adjacent to the working fishing port of Calpe.

The 'Port' area is very popular with the Spanish people as well as all other nationalities. The Port area is always busy, no matter what time of year or what the weather may do. At weekends this area is packed with people and car parking is difficult although there is plenty of car parking spaces off the front line.

Many coaches (autobuses) from all over Spain make this a regular stop at all times of the year.

There is also a 'Tourist Train' that is based here and travels around all the beaches regularly.

Winter Sunset over the Port of Calpe

The sunsets are best seen from the Port - best of all from the terrace of Bar Marina where lots of people like to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.

In Summer the sun moves around and slides below the mountains and sometimes the sky is totally ablaze with colour.

The views from the Penon de Ifach (above) are awesome, but descending in the dark can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the track.

The ' Silene de Ifach'

Is a VERY rare plant that ONLY grows on the rocky and colourful high reaches of the Penon de Ifach in Calpe.

This flowers in spring and is a beautiful sight if you are lucky to find it. It is illegal to pick the flowers so PLEASE leave the beauty for others to enjoy.
